Jaipur, 16 March, 2016: One of the globally recognized and leading healthcare research organizations’ of the country, IIHMR Universitys’ School of Pharmaceutical Management is inviting applications for a two year full time course- MBA Pharmaceutical Management . The course has a total in take of 60 students.  The course is designed to develop trained professionals with requisite skills in planning and operating management techniques; diagnosing and solving management problems; and acquiring consultancy skills, with a view to preparing them to work with pharmaceutical industries.
MBA Pharmaceutical Management is a flagship course of IIHMR University. This program aims at preparing professionals for a challenging career in pharmaceutical management for public and private sectors and in Pharmaceutical Organization and other related sectors.
  
The objective of the program is to understand the concepts and techniques of modern management and their application in Pharmaceutical management, develop skills in diagnosing and solving operational problems in the delivery of pharmaceutical services. To develop skills of analyzing, diagnosing, develop skills to learn the application of qualitative and quantitative analytical tools as they are applicable in the pharmaceutical industry. To help understand and appreciate methodologies of pharmaceutical management training and develop skils with focus on strategic responsibility for training and human resources development of the pharmaceutical industy and to enlarge the outlook of the participants about the larger background and context of pharmaceutical management.
 
Companies visiting the campus for the last 10 years are:  Thumbay Group of Hospitals, Ajman (UAE), ZS Associates Gurgaon, Accenture , IMS Healthcare, Bangalore, Novartis HyderabadmMSD,ABBOTT etc.. Students completing the program are offered a pay package of Rs.6 to Rs. 11.58 p.a  Students with a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years duration and 50% aggregate marks (Pharmacy/ Science/Biotechnology / Management/ Medicine), valid MAT/CAT/CMAT/ATMA/XAT/GPAT/IIHMR PHARMA MAT score or any other national level management aptitude tests, students awaiting final year results for the year 2016/ candidates appearing final year examination of Bachelor’s degree can apply for this program. Candidates with 2 years relevant work experience are exempted from above scores . The candidates willing to apply can download the form from www.iihmr.edu.in or can also apply online. The completed form needs to be sent to the University’s address by latest 30 June, 2016, Last date of submission of application forms is July 4th, 2016, followed by Group discussion and interview between 14th - 15th April, 2016, 9th - 10th June, 2016 and 7th - 8th July, 2016.
 
Selection will be made strictly on merit which will be prepared on the basis of the percentage in graduation, score in the mentioned management aptitude tests/ experience, performance in group discussion and Personal Interview.

Bayer Foundation’s Science Summer Camp invites Indian students

Mumbai, March 14, 2016 – An exciting educational program for junior scientists: the Bayer Science & Education Foundation is awarding 25 scholarships this year for the Bayer Science Camp in Denver, United States. 10 scholarships are open to school students from Germany, five each to young people from the United States and India, and for the first time another five spots to youngsters from Africa.
 
“Through our Science Teens Program, we want to get talented junior scientists excited about medical advancements and network them internationally,” explains Thimo V. Schmitt-Lord, Executive Director of the Bayer Foundations.
 
The theme of the science camps is “Life Science and Medical Health Issues,” and will again be conducted this year in partnership with the prestigious STEM Harmony education center at the University of Colorado, United States. The young people will conduct research into scientific and medical health issues under professional conditions, exchange views with scientists and perform experiments in the mountains. The camp will take place from July 25 to August 8 in Denver, Colorado.
 
Applicants should be between the ages of 14 and 16 and have good grades in scientific subjects, a very good command of the English language and a strong interest in medical health issues.

IT-Software and Insurance sectors record 28% growth in Feb’16 over Feb’15, reports Naukri Job Speak
·         At an overall level, hiring activity grows by 18% in the February’2016 index
·         Other sectors such as ITES and Pharma are up by 17% and 12% respectively
·         Demand for professionals in IT-Software and ITES grows by 21% and 26% respectively
Mumbai, 14th March, 2016: The Naukri Job Speak Index for the month of February 2016 stood at 1937 recording an increase of 18% in hiring activity over February 2015. Sustainable growth in hiring activity during the period led to an impressive Y-o-Y growth for IT-Software and Insurance sector. Increased hiring sentiment was also recorded in ITES (17%) and Telecom (6%), where hiring activity remained positive for most parts of the period Feb’15-Feb’16. A negative hiring sentiment was recorded in BFSI, where the period started on a positive note and despite spurts of recording growth during the year, ended with a decline of -5% in Feb’16 over Feb’15.
Demand for professionals in top sectors also recorded positive movement. IT-Software recorded an increased demand of 21% in hiring professionals, the positive trend that started from Feb’15 saw upsurge in the months of June-July’2015 and ended with index reaching more than 2650 for IT-Software in Feb’2016.
Demand in ITES saw a growth in hiring professionals going up by 26%, the index that started at 1891 in Feb’15 remained positive for most parts of the period of Feb’16 over Feb’15 and witnessed a sudden increase in Feb’16 with index reaching 2373, thereby increasing the demand. Sales professionals saw demand in their jobs going upwards by 15%, the month of June-July 2015 spelt good news and the period ended on a positive note for them.
Among the metros, Mumbai leads the growth with 24% increase in hiring activity in Feb’16 over Feb’15. Delhi/NCR came second with 23% growth, and Bengaluru was at third position with 22% growth in the Naukri Job Speak Index for Feb’16 over Feb’15.

Suresh, Chief Sales Officer, Naukri.com said, “As predicted earlier, Job market seems to sustain the momentum gained over the last few quarters and is heading North with 18% growth in February 2016. Looking at the consistency and pace at which the index is moving over the past few months, I am cautiously optimistic that we are at the cusp of a solid growth phase and good times are ahead for jobseekers.”
Industry-wise Analysis: Core sectors such as IT-Software, Insurance and ITES have shown positive trends, others are as following:
·         Pharma and Biotech record a growth 12%
·         Automobiles and Telecom are up by 7% and 6% respectively
·         Real Estate witnessed a Y-o-Y growth of 6%
·         FMCG recorded a growth of 29%
·         Construction and IT-Hardware reported a decline of -11% and -22% respectively

·         Marketing and Accounts professionals also witnessed growth in demand by 39% and 27% respectively

·         Demand for Project Management professionals continues to decline with -16% decrease in the Feb’16 index

All metro cities registered an increase in hiring activity in February 2016 over February 2015

·         Kolkata records a growth of 21%

Mumbai, March, 2016: The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai and Citi India, jointly invite applications for the 8th edition of the ‘Citi-NCPA Scholarship for Advanced Training in Hindustani Music’ under the aegis of the ‘Citi-NCPA Guru Shishya Program’ aimed at the preservation and propagation of Hindustani music to the next generation.
 
The highlight of the 2016 edition will be the scholarships for the advanced training in Hindustani Music in Melody Instruments –sitar, sarod, violin, flute, harmonium etc.
 
Since its inception, the Citi-NCPA Music Scholarship program has remained focused on strengthening and furthering the major components of the ecosystem of Hindustani music in the country.
In 2015-16, 290 applicants from across the country applied for the scholarships. 96 applicants were shortlisted for auditions at the NCPA Mumbai and nine applicants were awarded the scholarship. 
 
Now in its 8th year, the Citi-NCPA Guru Shishya Scholarship Program has so far helped enable 20 scholars build their expertise and skill, while increasing awareness and deepening interest in Hindustani classical music.
 
This year, the scholarship aims to support nine scholars in the age group of 18 to 30 (as off 1st March 2016) through a year-long (2016-2017) scholarship for advanced training in Hindustani Music in Vocals (Khayal, Dhrupad) and Melody Instruments (sitar, sarod, violin, flute, harmonium etc.).
 
Through its longstanding partnership, both Citi and NCPA are deeply committed to preserve, nurture and promote India’s rich cultural heritage, keeping the Guru-Shishya tradition at the heart of each of its four joint programs:
 
i.              The ‘Citi-NCPA Guru-Shishya program’ that supports eminent gurus to nurture disciples in the discipline of the musical art form they specialize in.
ii.             The ‘Citi-NCPA Music Scholarship’ that supports deserving students of music in their pursuit of Hindustani classical music
iii.            The ‘Citi-NCPA Aadi Anant’ traveling music festival that offers the community at large an opportunity to experience Indian classical music maestros as well as upcoming musicians on a single stage.
iv.            The ‘Citi-NCPA Music for Schools’ program aimed at nurturing an interest in music amongst young children
 
Application process:
 
Candidates are required to submit a written application in an envelope marked ‘Citi - NCPA Scholarship for Hindustani Music’, to the National Centre for the Performing Arts, NCPA Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 or mail to ncpascholarships@gmail.com on or before March 31, 2016. The application must contain details regarding the individual’s name, date of birth, address, contact number/alternate contact number, professional qualification, email ID, music teachers/gurus, number of years of training and details of achievements/prizes/scholarships and performances, amongst other noteworthy details. The shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or telephone. They will be required to appear for an audition at the NCPA, Mumbai in the month of April- May 2016.
 
The value of each of the scholarships will be INR 90,000 for the period of one year. Further, the scholarship will be provided to the students in monetary form to train under their respective teachers/institutions. The decision of the NCPA Selection Committee will be final.
 
Eligibility criteria:
Students who are benefiting from any other NCPA scholarship in the year 2016-17 are not eligible to apply. Also, applicants should not be working as professional musicians.
