The initiative aims at providing high quality tennis coaching to students
Dehradun/Lucknow, April 10th, 2015:
Mussoorie International School (MIS), a leading all girls' boarding
school, today announced a tie up with Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academies
(MBTA) to introduce high quality tennis coaching at the school.
The
introduction of this new initiative was announced today by India’s
premier tennis academy MBTA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Gaurav
Natekar and Ms. Priaa Peter, Principal Mussoorie International School.
“MBTA
has previously conducted a one week camp at our school under the
guidance of Mrs. Aarati Natekar, a former India No. 1 and a 7 time
National Champion. Students showed great enthusiasm during this camp and
now with this tie up we believe that students have a chance to truly up
their game and take it to the next level,” said Mrs Priaa Peter, Principal, Mussoorie International School.
“Our
academy strongly believes in identifying and nurturing talent from the
grass root level to moulding them into champions of the sport. We look
forward to working with the talented girls at MIS and inculcating in
them, through our tennis program, strong values such as team work,
discipline, dedication and the ability to handle success and failure.
All of these qualities will help turning them into strong, smart,
successful and upright citizens of India,
said Mr Gaurav Natekar, CEO, MBTA.
Mr
Natekar is former India number one tennis player, Arjuna awardee and
double Asian Games gold medalist. He is the driving force behind MBTA,
founded in 2006 by Mahesh Bhupathi--the 12-time Grand Slam winner.
MBTA’s objective is to impart professional, world-class training (both
practical and theoretical) and highly specialised coaching to youngsters
of all age-groups.
It
is with the same vision that MIS has joined hands with MBTA to conduct
the program at the school. MBTA will conduct the Progressive Tennis
program for the students belonging to the age group of 4 to 9 years that
will enable them to learn the sport with specialized equipment and
progress to full sized courts at the right time. As for the older
students, MBTA coaches will train and mentor them to help them develop
the game and inspire them to take up the sport professionally.
MBTA will consistently work towards developing the school tennis team for various interschool and other tournaments.
The
coaches will follow a structured program designed by Mr. Natekar and
Mr. Shankar Krishnaswamy, Director Coaching Operations, MBTA that will
ensure that the students of MIS become more aware of the sport and learn
the sport in the best possible manner.
